What This System Does

The Parashu® Whole House Rain Water Harvesting system is a large-scale, two-stage filtration unit that turns terrace rainwater into crystal-clear water for your overhead tank. It is designed for whole-house use: bathing, washing, cleaning, gardening and every other household purpose except direct drinking.

Care should be taken that the harvested water doesn't carry leaves, paper or plastic, as these may clog your pump or filter. This is easily achieved by putting barbed wires or nets at the terrace mouth of the rainwater pipes, or by fixing large net bags at the input of the tank to catch large objects like leaves.

Two-Stage Filtration: How It Works

Stage 1 – Bag filter with activated charcoal. The first level acts as a catcher for the system. It captures rough grains, small seeds, escaped bits of leaves and twigs. The bag filter contains activated charcoal.

Stage 2 – Micron-level polishing. The second level fully polishes the water at micron level, removing fine sand particles, dirt and dust, making the water crystal clear and ready to use.

Installation

Fix a 0.5 HP or 1 HP monoblock pump before the filter with the help of a plumber, and you can directly use the water that comes out of the filter. Please note that the pump, input tank and plumbing work are not included in our package. You will need to arrange these with a local plumber.

Maintenance

The bag filter should be washed once a month.

An extra bag is provided with the product, so you can change the bag when it gets damaged.

Is the Output Water Drinkable?

The output water is fit for all purposes except direct human consumption. You can always consume it after filtering it through your home drinking water purifier. Direct the output water to your overhead tank, or simply run the pump and collect the water whenever you need it.
